Quality Control
A specification only means something if it is measured and reported. This page shows what we check, how a lot is released, and — plainly — which figures are still to be confirmed for a given grade.
From agreed specification to lot report
Specification agreed
Thickness, width, treatment and laminate are written down before anything runs.
Sample approved
A physical sample is sent; the buyer signs off on hand feel, seal and print.
Production
The lot runs against the approved specification with in-line thickness monitoring.
Lot report
Test results for the production lot are shared on request before shipment.
What gets measured
Test methods follow the standard named in the quotation. Where a method has not been agreed for a grade yet, the row reads “On request” rather than quoting a standard we cannot apply.
| Test item | |
|---|---|
| Thickness | On request |
| Width and roll diameter | On request |
| Tensile strength (MD / TD) | On request |
| Elongation at break | On request |
| Seal strength | On request |
| Haze | On request |
| Gloss | On request |
| Coefficient of friction | On request |
| Water vapour transmission | On request |
| Oxygen transmission | On request |
Checking the web, not the invoice
Thickness gauge readings are taken across the web width at the start, middle and end of a run. Width and core are checked again after slitting, because that is the step where a good jumbo roll turns into an out-of-tolerance delivery.
If you need a specific test method, tell us the standard when you request the quotation and it will be written into the order acknowledgement.
